Stories of the places
you drive past.
TellRide listens to your GPS as you drive and narrates short, curiosity-driven stories about every landmark, neighbourhood, monument, and curious corner you pass.
Works in any modern phone browser — no install required. Free during beta.
How it works
No accounts to set up, no maps to load. Open the app, tap Start, and drive.
Open the app and tap Start
Your phone shares its location with TellRide while the page is open. Nothing happens in the background.
Stories are found nearby
TellRide pulls the closest landmarks from Wikipedia and asks Claude to rewrite them as short spoken narrations for a driver.
Your phone narrates them aloud
When one story ends, the next one is triggered by where you are right then — not where you were when you started.
What you'll like about it
Context-aware
Stories are picked from your current position at the moment one ends — so on a long drive you keep hearing about what's around you, not where you were ten minutes ago.
"Tell me more"
Whenever something catches your interest, tap the button — or just say "tell me more" out loud — and you'll get a deeper take on the same place.
Tunable radius
Slide between 500 m and 10 km. Tight in cities for dense local detail; wide on the open road so something interesting is always in range.
Curiosity, not noise
Each story is written fresh by an AI to sound like a thoughtful passenger — not a Wikipedia paragraph read aloud, and not a tour brochure either.
No tracking. No background location.
TellRide only knows where you are while the app is open and you have tapped Start. We don't sell, share, or build a profile from your route. We keep a short list of which stories you've already heard so you don't get the same one twice — and that list expires automatically. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
